About the Course

Campo de Golf Briceño 18 is an 18-hole public golf course in Sopó, Cundinamarca, just north of Bogotá on the road to Sopó. All 18 holes were redesigned by Agustín Pizá of Pizá Golf between 2019 and 2020, pairing a parkland-style front nine framed by forest and mountains with a links-style back nine of wide greens and wicked winds. At 7,319 yards from the back tees it ranks among the longest courses in Colombia and is the home course of tour pro Sebastián Muñoz. It is fully open to the public with no membership required, and features the largest driving range in the Sabana, an on-site club workshop, and the Santa Costilla barbecue restaurant.

What golfers love

5 PROS

A 7,319-yard championship test: par 72, rated 72.9/135 from the back tees, among the longest courses in Colombia.

Two distinct nines: a parkland-style front framed by forest and mountain views, and a links-style back nine with wide greens and real wind.

Fully redesigned by Agustín Pizá, who rebuilt all 18 holes, every bunker, and the drainage in 2019 and 2020.

Home course of tour pro Sebastián Muñoz, Colombia's top-ranked touring professional.

Genuinely public: no membership or share purchase needed, and scores post directly to the Federación Colombiana de Golf.

Things to know

4 CONS

The exposed back nine and wicked Sabana winds punish loose shots, especially in the afternoon.

At 7,319 yards from the tips, honest tee selection matters; most visitors score better from Blue or White.

Conditioning has varied: a 2023 review noted dry conditions, though recent reviews praise the maintenance.

The property doubles as an event center and music-festival venue, so non-golf traffic occasionally shares the grounds.

Notable Facts

5 FACTS

  • Agustín Pizá's all-18 redesign ran from September 2019 to October 2020 and was supervised remotely during the Covid airport shutdown.

  • The par-3 13th is now an island green marked by a huge "13" sculpture.

  • Every bunker was rebuilt for drainage, with sculptured grass bunkers edged by railroad ties.

  • It is the home course of Sebastián Muñoz, Colombia's top-ranked touring pro.

  • Opened in 2017, the club hosts the Torneo Aniversario and the Torneo Briceño 18.
