About the Course

Serrezuela Country Club, in Mosquera just west of Bogota, offers one of the longest championship layouts in Colombia: 18 holes, par 72, stretching 7,301 yards from the back tees with a 73.5/143 WHS rating. Designed by Rafael and Jaime Villegas with consulting from The Golden Bear International, the Jack Nicklaus Company subsidiary, the course mixes long par 5s, water hazards, and kikuyu fairways with poa greens. Five tree-named tee sets (Roble, Cedro, Aliso, Sauco, Cerezo) run from 4,924 to 7,301 yards, so every skill level finds a proper test. The private country club pairs golf with a full practice complex, 28 tennis courts, three heated pools, and tournament pedigree from the annual Abierto de Serrezuela.

Notable Facts

5 FACTS

  • Rated 73.5/143: the back tees, named Roble (oak), rate 73.5/143 at 7,301 yards under the WHS; the club's own site lists its black tees at 7,325 yards, a 24-yard discrepancy with the rated card.

  • Tees named for trees: every tee set is named for a tree: Roble (oak), Cedro (cedar), Aliso (alder), Sauco (elder), Cerezo (cherry).

  • Abierto de Serrezuela: the club hosts the annual Abierto de Serrezuela; Sergio Alejandro Diaz won the 14th edition at 6 under par (283) with a 90-million-peso purse, a late-season stop on the Tour Profesional Argos.

  • Fedegolf venue: Serrezuela is a regular Fedegolf competition venue; the national Mini Tour de Caddies played one of its 2024 stops here.

Local Tips

GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR ROUND

01

Learn the tree names

Tees carry tree names, not colors; Roble is the championship set and Cerezo the forward set, so ask the starter which marca fits your game.

02

Plan for the monsters

On the Roble tees the 4th (605 yards) and 12th (610 yards) par 5s demand three committed shots each.

03

Altitude adds distance

Sabana de Bogota air carries the ball farther, so take one less club on calm days and watch the long par 3s.

04

Respect the water

The big lake complex guards several holes; favor the safe side off the tee.

05

Arrange access early

Private club; call the commercial office at 350 409 1906 or coordinate through a member before driving out.
